WECC/ NERC Model Validation Testing
On August 8, 2005, U.S. President George W. Bush signed The Energy Policy Act of 2005 into law. The legislation authorizes the creation of a self-regulatory electric reliability organization (ERO) that spans North America, with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) oversight in the United States. The legislation makes compliance with North American Reliability Council (NERC) and regional reliability rules mandatory and enforceable.

Rocky Mountain Power Services, Inc.offers testing services to assist utilities in meeting their regulatory compliance guidelines.

RMPS, Inc. have been involved in the analysis and testing on over 400 units over the past decade. We successfully registered more units within the WECC than any other consultant during the test period immediately following the West Coast disturbances starting in 1997. The procedures developed for use on the WECC system have been adopted by NERC and the various Regional Councils with some Region-specific changes.
